Drifting Ice
In this series I explore the stark, otherworldly beauty of Antarctica's icebergs through the lens of black-and-white photography, brought to life by the gumoil printing technique. These images capture the silent majesty of icebergs as they float and shift, sculpted by nature's forces into breathtaking forms. The gumoil process adds depth and texture to each photograph, emphasizing the contrasts between light and shadow, solidity and fragility. "Drifting Ice" is a meditation on the impermanence and power of nature, reflecting both the enduring strength and the transient nature of these frozen giants. Through this series, I invite viewers to contemplate the serene yet haunting presence of these icebergs, drifting in isolation at the edge of the world.
Printed to Order
The images displayed below are positive files, which are a crucial step in the gumoil printing process. Once these images are printed using the gumoil technique, they will undergo a transformation in style, texture, and tone. This process infuses each print with a distinctive, unique identity that differs from the original digital positive. The final artwork will exhibit the handcrafted qualities and organic variations inherent to the gumoil process, making every piece a one-of-a-kind creation.
